Overview
Description
Hill Farm at Watergall, near Southam in Warwickshire, has been farmed by the Warner family for three generations and is going into a fourth. Mark and Emily Warner have moved the farm from an 800-ewe indoor lambing system to suckler cattle and a lower-input outdoor flock, grazed rotationally with long rest periods. Emily is a 2022 Nuffield Scholar; her scholarship, The Mob-Grazed Flerd, looked at improving soil, biodiversity and farm incomes together. The habitat bank covers around 50 hectares of that farm on lowland heavy clay. It offers lowland meadow, other neutral grassland, mixed scrub, individual trees, ponds, broadleaved and mixed woodland, and hedgerows at high and very high distinctiveness. Units are available for purchase, including fractional shares. Please get in touch for more details.
